The throughput included major commodities such as wheat, barley, maize, soybeans, rice, sugar, and edible oils. Notably, wheat and rice volumes each doubled, representing a 100% YoY increase, while edible oil throughput surged by 97% and barley climbed by 49%.
Commodity Throughput Breakdown
During the reporting period, maize throughput reached 2.8 million tonnes, while barley amounted to 900,000 tonnes. Wheat discharges totalled 820,000 tonnes, doubling the previous year’s figure. Throughput of edible oils was recorded at 650,000 tonnes, a near-twofold increase.
Soybean throughput reached 600,000 tonnes over the 90-day period. Sugar volumes amounted to 200,000 tonnes, while rice discharges hit 140,000 tonnes, also doubling compared to the same quarter in 1403.
Inland Logistics & Fleet Allocation
To facilitate cargo clearance, 223,405 trucks and 7,771 wagons were allocated during the first quarter. Of this fleet, 17,872 trucks operated under direct haulage protocols to expedite the removal of essential commodities from port areas.
